Christmas Crafts

My 4 year old son loves crafting, he has been going to an art class at the Schiller Parks & Rec Center through Columbus Recreation and Parks and loves it. He looks forward to it every week! So I thought when Elmer’s wanted to send us some craft materials to check out, I’d accept and do some Christmas themed projects with him. Today, since it is a dreary rain (instead of fluffy white snow) and we have been spending time indoors, we got it out and sat down to make.

Our base for the project is the Bi-Fold Foam Board. This is a really nice product that would have been great to have when I was in school doing projects. When open, it has 20″x30″ of project space. We settled on a scene for Santa to put behind our plate of Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve.

He wanted to draw a Christmas tree. With the Paintastics magic paint brush pens, this was so easy. Much easier than the paintbrush and paints we had just worked with. He was so excited about how quickly they dried! The caps were easy for him to remove and replace. The tips are as realistic as a paint brush and actually more controlled than paint which is a nice feature. If your kid loves dipping their brush too far into a paint well and ends up with gobs of paint, having this a little more controlled is nice.

We added the word SANTA and number 13 made of Project Popperz letters and numbers. These are nice. We had the bright pack, which is really just a few neon colors, so we were glad there was a normal green color in the bunch for this project. Easier than stencils. You may need to add more glue if you need them to stick on better (they only have a sticky material at the very top of the letter).

Fun products if you want to get a something a little different for kids’ art items, or school projects.
